In 1976, 21 year old, John Ensor studied New Testament Greek at Bethel College (St. Paul)in preparation for pastoral leadership. John Piper was his professor/teacher. Fifty years later, they still enjoy being friends and co-laborers in the Gospel.
“I just talked to John Ensor, who had just gotten out of jail today at 5:00 PM after two and a half days of internment for participating in a rescue in Boston. He was ecstatic. He had preached on Sunday in jail to 40 men. He said it was like a men’s retreat.”

Ensor went on to pastor in Boston, MA and while there, led the community of churches in the development of 6 ultrasound-equipped pregnancy help clinics, before helping pastors in Miami do the same. In 2010, he trained pastors in prolife ethics in China and started PassionLife in 2012. John Piper wrote the Foreword to his first book, The Great Work of the Gospel.
