Rescuing Lives inChina
PassionLife's Impact
We train local pastors and leaders in biblical ethics with the goal of launching a national movement that rescues unborn lives and leads mothers to find salvation in Christ.
The Situation
China has consistently had one of the highest abortion rates since its introduction of the One-Child Policy in 1979. Even though this policy was replaced in 2015 with a Two-Child Policy and in 2021 with a Three-Child Policy, having fewer children has become ingrained as desirable in the Chinese mindset. Therefore, abortion rates have remained high, despite government childbirth incentives.
Abortion rate is defined as the number of women out of every 1000, aged 15-39, who had an abortion in a single year. Abortion data source: Abortion Worldwide Report
Our Strategy
Teaching the 4 Questions in a biblical, logical, and concise manner leads to the following outcomes:
- The treasuring of human life
- The rejection of abortion
- The proclamation of the Gospel, including Christ’s forgiveness, resulting in freedom from guilt.
- The rescuing of unborn babies by reaching one mother at a time.
Our strategy is to encourage rapid replication of our teaching content so that mothers and babies are rescued from abortion and come to faith in Christ.
Join the Fight for Life
As changes in China unfold, our work and strategy must change. Currently, there is a strong interest in promoting an increase in birth rates, creating new opportunities for us to train people in pregnancy help services that rescue babies from abortion and form life-changing relationships with mothers and couples.
The Gospel of Life is spreading across the mission field created by the abortion crisis.
Join the movement:
- Pray for abortion to become unthinkable in China
- Volunteer at a pregnancy center near you
- Request training
- Download and teach the 4 Questions to others
The Latest News
The Chinese government acknowledges its fertility crisis and is now encouraging marriage and family in dramatic ways. The UN predicts that China’s population will decline by 50% by 2100 if changes are not made. PassionLife-trained volunteers opened the first pregnancy help office over 10 years ago. Following this model, four more hospitals opened “Early Pregnancy Help Centers” in 2025. We continue to encourage rapid replication of these services and hope to see 50 early pregnancy centers opened in the days ahead. We are working to ensure a high success rate by staffing them with individuals who value life, genuinely care about the well-being of the mother, and receive training in pregnancy crisis intervention.
